Introduction from Gary Darlington, Junior Cricket Manager
The Knockin and Kinnerley Knights were formed in 2010. We are very proud of what we've created and the journey we are still on. We are recognised as having one of the most progressive junior cricket sections in Shropshire.
We coach and develop cricket skills in a fun, engaging and enjoyable environment, although it's not just cricket skills our juniors go away with. A sense of belonging, teamwork, making new friends and tremendous enjoyment are all part of the experience we offer.
Our success is summed up with the sheer number of junior members we see and the success of our current and former junior members who have transitioned so well into senior cricket at all levels. In 2017 we had 132 children learning and enjoying the game we love, made up of 99 boys and 33 girls which clearly demonstrates the quality and enjoyment of what we offer.
My role as Junior Cricket Manager is to oversee the development of the junior section and I’m supported by a loyal group of Coaches, Parents and Volunteers, for which I am very grateful. I am always on the look out for additional help and support, so if you want to get involved in any way, just come and find me or contact me directly (details below).
We are a Clubmark and All Stars accredited club (re-accreditation achieved in 2017), meaning we meet strict criteria as laid down by the ECB and offer a safe environment to learn the game.
Our values are to ensure that every junior has opportunity to take part as little or as much as they want to - whether that be only attending our popular Monday training sessions or playing in junior or senior matches. We encourage and support each junior member enabling them to develop at a pace specifically suited to them.
In 2018 we continue to offer something for everyone for girls and boys between the ages of 5 to 17. Below are three links that I hope you'll find useful and allow you to find what you are looking for. If not, you can contact us on social media, e-mail or call me, the details are below.
I look forward to welcoming you to The Nursery Ground over the Summer months.
